our dad was a very wise man things he said years ago are still coming true now. dad was a very very hard worker he worked in two jobs most of his life he worked since he was 14 yrs old in a farm, then became a farmer, he cherished the outdoor life style. he & mum Annie had 10 children he later settled 2 city life and became a landscape gardener, who was extremely sought after by all walks of life, he adored gardening, he used to say he was nearer to god in the garden than anywhere else on earth although he was not a religous man. he was a good dad very strict did not suffer fools gladly, did not have time for idle people who were able to work hated scroungers, he himself worked until he was 75. he was a brilliant story teller about the war the flowers gardening . he had a great love for edinburgh many of his family stayed there. (his sister betty stayed up the famous burke & hare's close) her claim 2 fame..Dad helped many people by giving them a day or two's work he always said everyone should earn their bread, he lived by that himself. dad had a great love for horses & dogs he liked a gamble that was his relaxation on a saturday, he loved the glasgow rangers. we have probably all learned from him we would do well to have listened to his wise words. dad lived to the grand age of 95, well spent years.
